Monomatpack

The Incarlopsa Group, through the Department of Quality and R + D + i, is developing a new international project in cooperation with Taiwan called “RECYCLABLE MATERIALS FOR SUSTAINABLE FOOD PACKAGING” – MONOMATPACK- (INNO-20182022). The objective of the MONOMATPACK project consists of the development of new monomaterial containers based on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or polylactic acid (PLA) (100% recyclable and biodegradable, respectively) with the incorporation of microcellulose to increase the barrier effect, for packaging of different products (meats, vegetables and ready-to-eat products).

Incarlopsa has joined an international consortium of companies formed by the company Chiao Fu Material Technology Co. Ltd. (CHIAO), the Spanish company Klöckner Pentaplast España, S.A.U. (KPFILMS) and the companies Verdifresh, S.L.U., Easy Pack Enterprise Co. Ltd. (EPACK). In this consortium, Incarlopsa will be in charge of defining the technical requirements of the packaging for fresh meat and meat products, to later validate and demonstrate the technical capabilities of new recyclable and biodegradable active packaging, determining if these are suitable for the correct packaging of the products. fresh, cured and cooked meat products, maintaining all their properties and shelf life.

Finally, the MONOMATPACK project, received in the INNOGLOBAL 2018 call for grants for international R&D projects managed by the CDTI, has a budget of € 289,631.00 for its 2-year duration and has been subsidized by the CDTI, with co-financing with Structural Funds of the European Union, through the Pluriregional Operational Program of SPAIN 2014-2020, in addition to the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.
