“This will be the legislature of Cuenca”. This was the forceful tone of the regional president today on his visit to the province, first in the capital, where he announced the resumption today of the works involving the new hospital, and later in Tarancon, where he signed a partnership protocol with the company Incarlopsa.
The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, guaranteed today that “this will be the legislature of Cuenca”; a period in which the capital of Cuenca “will notice that the tide has turned”, from being “forgotten and in hibernation” to the centre of a series of major projects such as the resumption of the works involving the General Hospital – suspended since 2012 – and the 600 jobs to be created at the company Incarlopsa through the promotional work conducted by the regional government. As such, he asked each and every institution to “join” the initiative of the Castilla-La Mancha Executive Branch, roll up their sleeves and help salvage an important economic cycle.
The new General Hospital, which “will guarantee the city´s residents proper healthcare” the Board explains, will have an outpatient area comprising 120 appointment rooms and offices, 13 operating rooms and a total of 508 beds. This is a “major health and economic project, and one which will enable the sustainable use of our environment, as the hot water, heating and cooling systems in the new Cuenca hospital will run on biomass extracted from the mountains in the province of Cuenca”, pointed out the regional president.
Partnership protocol with Incarlopsa
Moreover, García-Page and the vice president, José Luis Martínez Guijarro, visited the company Incarlopsa in Tarancon. The reason for this visit was to enter into a partnership protocol between both parties for the promotion of the creation of employment through the expansion of facilities being conducted by the meat producer in this municipality.
The agreement “illustrates two main things, that we are fully committed to the Incarlopsa expansion project”, and that the government is proud, which will be reflected “in the form of financial incentives”, said García-Page. We will be working “at full steam ahead in all areas of financial assistance, and not only financial, but in bureaucratic issues with this great company, which is a local concern, and which is going to get bigger” as a driver of economic activity.
The project is now “at full throttle”, says Emilio Loriente, CEO of Incarlopsa, “and we intend to make it operational by 2017”. The first phase will see most of the 600 planned jobs filled, which will be completed over the years.
