Competition authorities give Frescos Delisano, Cárnicas Medina and Incarlopsa the go-ahead to acquire Martínez Loriente

– The CNMC has approved the corporate transfer initiated on 05 September, thereby guaranteeing the continuity of the jobs and investments involved – The operation concludes the project designed to specialise Mercadona’s Fresh Meat Model –

Valencia, 04 October 2016. The National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC by its acronym in Spanish) has authorised the process for the specialisation of Martínez Loriente, an inter-supplier of meat products to Mercadona, in different areas of activity and with a different company for each sector of production. The authorisation of the CNMC approves the corporate transfer to these companies, which began on 05 September, thereby guaranteeing the viability of the projects, the existing jobs and the planned investments.

Frescos Delisano, based in Serinyá (Girona), has acquired the facilities located in Cheste (Valencia) dedicated to the cutting and packaging of pork, lamb and meat products, with a workforce of 1,200 and a production capacity of 79 million kilos a year.

Elaborados Cárnicos Medina, based in Leganes (Madrid), has acquired the facilities of Buñol (Valencia), a slaughterhouse and veal cutting room with a production capacity of 20 million kilos a year and a workforce of 700.

The company Incarlopsa, an inter-supplier of Mercadona specialising in the production of pork ham and by-products will be taking over the Tarancon (Cuenca) facilities, mainly dedicated to the cutting and packaging of pork, in addition to lamb, and which has a workforce of 300 and a production capacity of 30 million kilos a year.
